This is a free event for the whole family! 10am - 2pm
Respect your Mother!
Have you made your plans for Mother’s Day on Sunday, 12th May?
How about joining Conscious Kids for a special celebration of our earth mother, Papatūānuku?
Our 4th and final Nature Play Community Day will coincide with Mother’s Day, 10 am – 2 pm, and we’ve got something unique planned this time! In partnership with the Devonport Recycling Centre and Ngataringa Organic Garden, we are excited to announce the workshops for the day:
*** Please note, all workshops are FREE but bookings are required and numbers strictly limited, there will be NO general admission activities – i.e. there will be no walk-up activities like at our prior events***
Tinkering is another word for good old-fashioned ‘mucking around’ with tools to construct and de-construct with a variety of waste items otherwise destined for landfill. With an emphasis on experimentation and learning from failures, children explore science and technology concepts, learning about sustainability along the way.
Sessions at 10 am, 11:30 am and 1 pm
Sessions run for 1 hour and 15 minutes
Limited to 20 children per session, ages 4 – 12
Join Eva at the Ngataringa Organic Gardens for a magical mystery garden tour! Children will brew a herbal infusion, create artworks of Melissa Fairy with “Magic Paints”, make soil out of egg shells (no, not compost - just soil), stroke the friendly chickens and look at the baby pawpaw tree with tiny fruits.
Sessions at 10:30 and 12:30
Sessions run for 1 hour
Limited to 25 children per session, all ages welcome, koha appreciated to cover cost of materials.
