NATURE PLAY COMMUNITY DAY is an opportunity for families and children to explore and enjoy their local natural heritage. For four hours, 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday or Sunday, we celebrate NATURE PLAY and our Natural Environment!

It offers a broader cross-section of the community access to 100% nature-based, child-centered, and te ao Maori focussed activities. By facilitating outdoor play sessions, leading group clean-ups of the area, providing environmentally-focused educational opportunities, and hosting te ao Maori workshops we aim to:
 

• Connect children and families to the local environment and heritage 

• Increase awareness of individual and community practices to promote environmental sustainability

• Enhance the community's sense of responsibility, value, and respect for the environment 

• Facilitate growing a network of environmentally-focused community members 

• Empower the community to identify and take on additional projects to promote/protect the natural heritage of the area
