Nature Play Days
All family is welcome!
NATURE PLAY COMMUNITY DAY is an opportunity for families and children to explore and enjoy their local natural heritage. For four hours, 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday or Sunday, we celebrate NATURE PLAY and our Natural Environment!
It offers a broader cross-section of the community access to 100% nature-based, child-centered, and te ao Maori focussed activities. By facilitating outdoor play sessions, leading group clean-ups of the area, providing environmentally-focused educational opportunities, and hosting te ao Maori workshops we aim to:
-
Connect children and families to the local environment and heritage
-
Increase awareness of individual and community practices to promote environmental sustainability
-
Enhance the community's sense of responsibility, value, and respect for the environment
-
Facilitate growing a network of environmentally-focused community members
-
Empower the community to identify and take on additional projects to promote/protect the natural heritage of the area
